The Confraternity of St James: Is a non-profit organisation, established in 1996, in order to gather people with interest for pilgrimage and aspects connected to this The organisation is national and is open for everyoneShall invite for international relationships and cooperation on an ecumenical as well as historical, cultural and ecological basisHold meetings where art, architechture, history and music which is connected to pilgrimage is in focusPublish a magasine which refelcts the activities nationally and internationally (4 issues per year)Working in order to renew the pilgrimage tradition in todays society and show that history is alive, it just has to be revealedThe most important work we do is to revitalise the pilgrim roads in Norway and inform about the idea and concept of pilegrimageShall make clear the old international connectionsShall work for an attitude based upon dialouge and respect for nature - leaving no tracksShall document and focus on Norwegian cultural heritage connected to the apostel James (Jakob), St Olav and other historical people in the pilgrimage traditionInform abou pilegrim roads, hereof the roads to Santiago de Compostella, Nidaros and other pilegrim goalsOffer language classes in Spanish The membership is 300,- NOK per year |
